Let me ask you something: Do you click on online ads?

I generally don’t.

Do you feel you’re getting bombarded with advertising messages all day long.

So let me ask you another question: What do you do when you get an email from someone you know (and possibly even like and trust)?

Well, if you’re like me, you open the email just to see what they are communicating to you about.

And, there you have it: The person who is emailing you, has an easier time reaching you than all those other marketers that are paying for ads, spending tons of money, and which you largely ignore.

So when you consider how you could best reach your clients (future, current, or past), wouldn’t email be the most effective channel?

Yes. An email list is the holy grail of marketing your services today. Here’s why:

With a system in place, you can save vast amounts of time. What I’m talking about here is an “autoresponder” application / program / platform. You’ve heard of them. An autoresponder really comes in handy, when you want to stay top-of-mind with leads, and potential. current, and past clients. When you show up in their mailbox – even if they do not open and read your emails – at a minimum it registers with them that you still exist. Then, when the subject line really does entice them and they open your message, you have just significantly shortened the decision cycle before they commit to engage with you.

And that is one of the best parts of autoresponders: Even with the basic (no or low-cost) package from some – you usually get some analytics that inform you as to who opens your mail and clicks on embedded links. These recipients are your hottest prospects, and you can take the opportunity to make an actual phone call to follow-up.

And since you are communicating one-to-many – while still sending personalized messages – with an autoresponder, you are working more efficiently. And this can free up a lot of time!
